Pink Fun at the Women's Walk

Little-known fact: we met because of the 2014 Pick n Pay Women's Walk. So, of course, we decided to support the 2017 Women's Walk in Bloemfontein, and we decided to be as pink as possible.

The Pink Drive Women's Walk, for those who don't know, aims to raise awareness for breast cancer. It's a 5km walk (not a run, thank goodness) that is held in various cities throughout the year. Participants get a pink shirt, a goodie bag and a medal for completing the walk. Even though it says Women's Walk, everyone is welcome to participate.

This year, we decided on a superhero theme. Marius printed out some posters, and we used stuff we had around the house as well as shirts from a previous event to create our costumes.

You can be a superhero even if you wear glasses!

We met a bunch of cool people. These kids had fluffy pink tails!

We loved being part of the event, and seeing so many other people show up to support breast cancer awareness and get themselves checked out. As a bonus, both of us were called up on stage with a few other people to receive prizes for dressing up. Hopefully next year we see even more people go above and beyond to dress up and have fun at this event!
