Let's go!

Last weekend, we decided to don our orange supporter gear and go watch the Cheetahs play rugby against the Lions (the stadium is a 10-minute drive away, and we hadn't been in a while). The weather is getting warmer again, rugby tickets are not too expensive, and we are still feeding off the high of our team winning the Currie Cup last year.

Besides, we do love an excuse to dress up, and there's nothing quite like watching a live game.

Since the stadium was relatively empty, since we had front-row seats and since we were among the few who had gone to such dressing-up extremes, we ended up being featured on TV multiple times. We kept getting messages from family all over the country about them seeing us on their TV screens at home. We even made it onto the 5-minute YouTube highlights video, where you can see us in action at the very start and at the very end (parental guidance advised for the celebratory kiss at the end!).

Marius created a poster specifically for the occasion (pictured above), and it looked really nice, if we do say so ourselves. We also made sure to wear a touch of pink in honour of breast cancer awareness (the Cheetahs played in pink socks that day to highlight this worthy cause).

Here are a few photos of the Nells in their natural habitat:
This is a family-submitted photo of Marius going insane on TV (his voice was half-gone for 3 days from repeatedly shouting 'let's go')

Victory kiss on camera! The Cheetahs won the game with a desperately-needed try in the last minute of the game.

Annalene was easy to spot in her Cheetah supporter's outfit
